Privacy Policy for MinMail

Last updated: 19 October 2026

MinMail ("the app") is an email app for iPhone developed by Aldo Arauzo, Munich, Germany ("I", "me"). This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Summary

The app connects directly from your iPhone to your Gmail account. I do not run any server for the app, and I do not collect, store, sell or share your emails or personal data. Your emails stay between your iPhone and Google.

2. Data the app accesses

When you sign in with Google, you grant the app permission to:

- see your email address, to show which account is signed in;

- read, send and modify your Gmail messages (for example: display your inbox, open attachments, send replies, mark messages as read, archive them or move them to the trash).

This access is used only to provide the app's email features to you, on your device.

3. Where your data is stored

- Emails and attachments are loaded from Google when you use the app and are displayed on your device. They are not sent to me or to any third party.

- To open quickly, the app keeps a local copy of the sender, subject and preview of your most recent emails in the app's private storage on your device. iOS encrypts it while the phone is locked. It is deleted when you remove the account or delete the app.

- Attachments you open are saved temporarily on your device so you can view them, and are removed by the app afterwards.

- Your sign-in credentials (access and refresh tokens) are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device. They are not included in device backups.

- Display preferences (such as line spacing) are stored locally on your device.

4. Google user data: Limited Use

MinMail's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements. Your Google user data is not used for advertising, is not sold, is not transferred to third parties, and is not read by humans.

5. Remote content in emails

Opening an email can load images from the sender's servers, which can let the sender know the email was opened. MinMail blocks remote images by default and does not run scripts in emails. You can choose to show the images of a specific email with the "Show images" button.

6. Analytics, tracking and advertising

The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking.

7. Beta testing (TestFlight)

If you test the app through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share with me crash reports, device information and feedback that you choose to send. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

8. Your choices and deleting your data

- You can remove an account at any time in the app's settings. This deletes its credentials and saved emails from your device and asks Google to revoke the app's access.

- You can also revoke access at any time in your Google Account: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions

- Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.

Because I do not store your data on any server, there is no data held by me to delete. Under the GDPR you nevertheless have the right to request information about any data concerning you; contact me at the address below.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
